The New Jersey Devils enter Sunday’s matchup against the Colorado Avalanche riding a historic seven-game winning streak, having secured a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Friday night. Dougie Hamilton emerged as the star performer, scoring twice to propel the team past the struggling Sharks, while Connor Brown added a goal and Nico Hischier provided two assists. This performance marks the Devils’ first win since their season-opening loss to Carolina, establishing them as a formidable force in the early stages of the 2025-26 NHL campaign.
Devils seek eighth straight win as they host the Avalanche in a pivotal October clash.
New Jersey’s defensive stability has been a key driver of their recent success, highlighted by goaltender Jake Allen, who stopped 16 shots to improve his record to 4-0-0. Allen’s consistency has allowed the Devils to maintain momentum, contrasting sharply with the San Jose Sharks, who snapped a six-game losing streak with a 6-5 overtime win at the New York Rangers. While San Jose’s Yaroslav Askarov finished with 27 saves, the Devils’ ability to capitalize on chances has set them apart, making their upcoming test against the Avalanche a critical benchmark for their season.
