Eagles secure 38-2 record and a shot at fourth title in five years
The Eagles’ resume is built on a foundation of elite regular-season performance, highlighted by a school-record 35 wins and a perfect 7-0 conference mark. Their dominance was further cemented by five regular-season tournament victories and impressive results against top-tier opponents, including North Polk, Aplington-Parkersburg, Denver, and Grundy Center. This depth and consistency have positioned them as heavy favorites, with their only two losses coming against 5A Ankeny and 3A Roland-Story, both of whom also qualified for the state bracket.
Quick emphasized the team’s balanced approach, citing a potent offense supported by strong defensive play and a blend of experienced veterans and new talent.
