Holy Cross High football maintained its dominant offensive surge on Thursday night, dismantling the WCA Spartans 56-8 at Ray Snyder Sr. Field. The Crusaders improved to 6-1 with their sixth consecutive victory, while the Spartans dropped to 1-6. The game was defined by Holy Cross quarterback Brady Lombardo’s explosive performance, as he threw six touchdown passes in the first half alone. Lombardo connected for strikes of 17, 46, 27, 2, 24, and 19 yards, effectively ending the contest before the second quarter concluded.

Senior wide receiver Dae’Sean Graves continued his historic campaign, catching five passes for 113 yards, including a 46-yard score. Although Graves sat out the second half, his performance further solidified his status as a Connecticut football legend. He now holds the state record for career touchdown receptions with 52, a mark he tied and broke last week against Crosby. The UConn commit’s efficiency and big-play ability remain central to Holy Cross’s high-powered attack.
Graves’ next milestone is imminent, requiring just six more receptions to break East Catholic’s Joey Montalvo’s career record of 226 catches. He will have the opportunity to claim this distinction when Holy Cross hosts Woodland on Friday, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, Graves is 529 yards away from tying Montalvo’s career receiving-yards record of 3,871. With multiple state records within reach, Graves is poised to make another historic mark in the coming weeks.
