Saul “Canelo” Alvarez returns to the ring on Saturday to challenge undefeated WBC super middleweight champion Christian M’billi in a high-stakes bout branded “Mexico vs. The World.” The fight serves as Alvarez’s (63-3-2) immediate bounce-back effort following his September 2025 unanimous decision loss to Terence Crawford. With his only other recent setback dating back to his 2022 loss to Dmitri Bivol, Alvarez aims to reclaim his status as the pound-for-pound heavyweight of boxing by defeating a well-regarded opponent in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Alvarez seeks redemption from Crawford loss as he faces undefeated champion in Saudi Arabia.
M’billi (29-0-1, 24 KOs) enters the main event as the full WBC champion after being elevated in January 2026 when Crawford was stripped of the title. The Frenchman has established himself as a formidable force, capturing the interim belt with a June 2025 victory over Maciej Sulecki and successfully defending it against Lester Martinez in a split decision three months later. Now facing the biggest test of his career, M’billi must navigate Alvarez’s experience and power to retain his championship status against the Mexican star.
Fans can tune in to watch the event live on Saturday, Halloween, as the two fighters clash in Riyadh. The bout is positioned as a critical juncture for both careers, with Alvarez looking to silence critics and M’billi aiming to cement his legacy by stopping or outlasting the division’s most recognizable name. This matchup represents a significant moment in super middleweight boxing, pitting a seasoned veteran against a rising, undefeated champion in a globally promoted spectacle.
