Four standout performances in football drive a competitive race for the top honor.
The field features four exceptional candidates who dominated their respective matchups. Anthony Bravo of Orosi showcased his dual-threat ability, throwing for a touchdown and rushing for another to secure a victory over Riverdale. In a display of sheer power, Ja’khari Burrell of Central Valley Christian carried the offense on his back, rushing for a massive 229 yards and three touchdowns on 45 carries to lead his team to a win against Tulare Union.
Receiving threats also feature prominently in this week’s ballot. Connor Cain of Golden West demonstrated elite playmaking skills despite a loss to Redwood, racking up 163 receiving yards and three touchdowns on nine catches. Meanwhile, Sonny Casas of Dinuba proved efficient and explosive, catching just four passes for 152 yards and three touchdowns to help the Emperors defeat Washington Union. With such diverse and high-level performances, the final decision rests entirely with the voters.
