World Elite Sumo (WES) has officially expanded its roster for the upcoming one-night, 12-man open-weight tournament in Orlando, Florida, with the addition of three prominent California-based competitors. Announced Wednesday, Juicy Finau of Chino, Josh “Siua” Tuitupou of Union City, and Gilberto “El Coloso Aztec” De La Torre of Los Angeles join previously confirmed star Makini “Big Mak” Manu of Carson. This strategic move elevates California’s representation to four wrestlers, signaling a strong regional contingent for the event scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Caribe Royale Orlando.

The new additions bring significant physical diversity and professional wrestling pedigree to the mat. Finau, 30, stands as one of the tournament’s heaviest competitors at 6-foot-4 and 465 pounds. A product of Tongan heritage, Finau combines five years of Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling experience with a professional career that includes appearances in AAA Lucha Libre and Major League Wrestling. His familiarity with WES competition is evident, as he recently faced Manu in a heavyweight clash during the organization’s Sept. 26 Santa Cruz tournament, where the two competitors weighed a combined 865 pounds.
As the tournament approaches, the inclusion of these athletes underscores WES’ commitment to showcasing elite, high-impact talent in its open-weight format. With Tuitupou returning to the circuit and De La Torre adding a lucha libre flair to the roster, the Orlando event promises intense matchups between massive, skilled athletes. Fans can expect a high-octane display of power and technique as these four Californians compete against the other eight announced competitors for the top prize in the 12-man bracket.
