Texas State’s Bobcats delivered a commanding performance on Saturday night, dismantling Oregon State 42-21 in Corvallis. The Bobcats (5-4, 3-2 Pac-12) controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, generating a massive 600 total yards of offense. Of that total, 386 yards came on the ground, showcasing a physical and relentless rushing attack that overwhelmed the Beavers’ defensive line throughout the contest.

The offensive surge was led by a dynamic duo in the backfield. Torrance Burgess Jr. carried the ball 28 times for 196 yards and a touchdown, including a pivotal 23-yard score to open the fourth quarter. Davian Jackson complemented him with 107 rushing yards on just 10 carries, crossing the 100-yard threshold while scoring three times on short-yardage opportunities. Quarterback Brad Jackson also contributed significantly to the ground game, adding 87 rushing yards and a 27-yard touchdown run, while completing 16 of 20 passes for 214 yards.
For Oregon State (5-4, 3-2), the loss marks their second consecutive defeat after ending a five-game winning streak. Freshman receiver Jesse Legree, who entered the game as the national leader in receiving yards (1,110) and touchdown catches (14), caught eight passes for 99 yards but could not overcome the Bobcats’ dominance. The result extends Texas State’s recent hot streak, with the team now winning three of their last four games, while the Beavers look to regroup following this lopsided setback.
