Le’Veon Bell has reignited the debate over DK Metcalf’s reliability with a savage social media takedown following the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 8 victory over the Cleveland Browns. The former Steelers running back crafted a comedic skit in which he impersonated Metcalf calling customer service to report that his hands are malfunctioning. In the bit, Bell joked that the receiver’s hands function perfectly from Monday through Saturday but fail exclusively on game days, concluding the skit with a representative noting that the warranty on Metcalf’s hands expired the moment he left the Seattle Seahawks.
Former Steelers RB turns Metcalf’s 2026 struggles into viral customer service skit
The mockery stems from Metcalf’s persistent drop issues in the 2026 season, where he has been responsible for at least six critical drops. The most recent incident occurred during the matchup against Cleveland, where a pass bounced off Metcalf’s hands and was intercepted by Browns cornerback Denzel Ward. This latest turnover highlights a stark contrast to his tenure in Seattle, where Metcalf established himself as a top-tier threat. During his six-year stint with the Seahawks from 2019 to 2024, the wide receiver accumulated 6,324 receiving yards and 48 touchdowns across 97 games.
Despite the viral humor, the statistical decline poses a genuine concern for Pittsburgh’s offensive strategy. Since being traded from Seattle to Pittsburgh in March 2025, Metcalf has recorded just 1,228 yards and seven touchdowns in 23 games, a significant dip in production compared to his previous career averages. As the Steelers look to maintain their momentum, the team faces a critical decision on whether to continue leaning on Metcalf as a primary target or to adjust their offensive scheme to mitigate the risk of costly turnovers in high-stakes moments.
