Inter Milan demonstrated their characteristic resilience to secure a 2-1 victory over ACF Fiorentina at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, completing a dramatic late comeback that underscores their growing dominance in Serie A. Despite missing key starters including Lautaro Martinez, John Stones, and Curtis Jones, Simone Inzaghi’s side controlled the narrative through superior possession and sustained pressure. The match turned on its head in the final stretch, as Marcus Thuram and Piotr Zielinski struck in quick succession to overturn Alex Jimenez’s opener for the visitors, proving that the Nerazzurri can find a way to win even when the intensity levels fluctuate.
Nerazzurri overcome early deficit to extend unbeaten run at the Meazza.
The tactical battle was defined by Inter’s ability to create high-quality chances in the dying moments of the first half, setting the stage for their eventual triumph. With Francesco Pio Esposito returning to the starting lineup alongside Thuram and debutant goalkeeper Ivan Provedel holding the fort, Inter maintained a relentless offensive posture. Although Fiorentina, lacking Fabiano Parisi and Luca Ranieri, looked dangerous through Franco Mastantuono and Alieu Njie, they struggled to contain the Nerazzurri’s midfield control. The match highlighted Inter’s depth, as they successfully navigated a depleted squad to maintain their strong league position.
This result cements Inter’s status as a formidable force in the current Serie A campaign, showcasing their ability to execute under pressure despite significant injury concerns. The late goals from Thuram and Zielinski were not just decisive but indicative of the team’s tactical discipline and late-game focus. As the league progresses, this victory serves as a crucial statement of intent, demonstrating that the Nerazzurri’s depth and tactical flexibility remain their greatest assets against top-tier opposition.
