Beyond on-field preparations, Norvell addressed the recent administrative statement released by FSU President Richard McCullough, offering a unified front regarding the university’s direction. The head coach praised McCullough’s leadership and vision, revealing that the two engaged in extensive discussions last week to align on their goals. “I appreciate him, appreciate his vision for Florida State, his passion for Florida State,” Norvell said, reinforcing the collaborative relationship between the athletic department and university administration as they navigate the current landscape.
Norvell concluded his remarks by refocusing attention on the primary objective: on-field performance and sustained improvement. He clarified that while administrative matters are important, his daily priority remains ensuring the football team continues to develop and deliver results. “We all have a job to do,” he stated. “At the end of the day, my job is to make sure that this football team is continuing to grow, to get better, to perform and go out there and get the desired results.” Wide receiver Duce Robinson also spoke to the media following the practice, adding to the narrative of a team locked in for the weekend battle.
