Amilio Venditti is stepping away from the Beachside Soccer Club in Norwalk to join the Jonathan Law boys soccer team for his senior season, a decision driven by a desire to cement his place in a storied family tradition. For three years, Venditti served as a dedicated goalkeeper for the U-13 through U-17 club teams, but he could not simultaneously compete for the Lawmen due to conflicting commitments. Now, with his high school career entering its final chapter, he is choosing the opportunity to play alongside his father, uncle, brother, and cousin, all of whom previously represented the program.
Senior goalie prioritizes family history over college exposure in pivotal career move
The move marks a strategic shift for the senior, who acknowledges the difficulty of leaving a club program that provided significant college exposure. “Towards the end of my junior year, I started really thinking about what I wanted my senior year to look like,” Venditti explained. While he remains grateful for the development opportunities at Beachside, he recognized that the chance to wear the Law jersey was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to follow in the footsteps of his relatives. This decision underscores a commitment to personal legacy over immediate collegiate recruitment visibility.
Venditti’s choice is deeply rooted in the visible history of the Jonathan Law program, where he spent years admiring All-State banners bearing the names of his father and uncle. His uncle, Pierre Venditti, stands out as a standout figure in that lineage, having been named the 1994-95 Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year. By adding his name to the roster for his final year, Venditti aims to continue this multi-generational dominance, transforming his long-standing admiration for the family’s achievements into his own competitive reality.
