Jack McGlynn Replaces Injured Gio Reyna for USMNT Haiti Clash

Jack McGlynn has officially replaced Gio Reyna on the United States men’s national team roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals against Haiti. The 23-year-old midfielder, currently playing for Stoke City in the English Championship, was named to the squad on Saturday in Fayetteville, Georgia. This move comes after Reyna suffered an apparent thigh injury while playing for Strasbourg in a Ligue 1 loss to Toulouse on Friday. Reyna had just scored his third goal of the season before exiting the match early, forcing a last-minute adjustment for the U.S. coaching staff.

The roster change adds to a challenging week for the U.S. squad, as defender George Campbell was also replaced by Mark McKenzie on the same day due to injury. Despite these setbacks, the No. 16-ranked United States remains focused on securing a berth in the Nations League semifinals. The team faces 84th-ranked Haiti in a two-leg series, with the first match scheduled for November 14 in Miami and the second on November 17 in Cincinnati. A victory in this series will advance the U.S. to the semifinals, which are set to take place from March 22 to 30 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

McGlynn brings valuable recent international experience to the lineup, having been part of the U.S. squad for the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup. His inclusion ensures depth in the midfield as the team prepares for high-stakes matches against a lower-ranked opponent. The goalkeeper rotation remains unchanged, featuring Matt Freese from New York City, Diego Kochen from Lyngby, and Brian Schwake from Nashville. As the U.S. looks to maintain its dominance in CONCACAF, the performance of these replacements will be critical in navigating the quarterfinal hurdles.
