ONE Championship has officially unveiled the full card for ONE Friday Fights 176, delivering nine high-stakes bouts across Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA to close out October. The event, set for Friday, October 30, at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, continues the organization’s commitment to providing a weekly showcase for emerging talent. Every competitor on the slate is vying for a lucrative US$100,000 contract and a coveted spot on ONE Championship’s main roster, ensuring that every round carries significant career implications.
Rambong Sor Therapat vs. Jacob “Sombat” Thompson Heads Nine-Bout Slate At Lumpinee Stadium
The main event pits Thai veteran Rambong Sor Therapat against United Kingdom’s Jacob “Sombat” Thompson in a flyweight Muay Thai contest. The 29-year-old Rambong enters the bout with strong momentum, boasting 11 victories in 16 appearances on the weekly series, including four finishes. His recent form is impressive, highlighted by a split-decision win over Sornsueknoi FA Group at ONE Friday Fights 158, a majority decision over Pethuahin Jitmuangnon at ONE Friday Fights 150, and a split-decision victory over Songpandin Chor Kaewwiset at ONE Friday Fights 143. His experience and finishing ability make him a formidable opponent for any challenger.
Facing off against the Thai veteran is 23-year-old Thompson, who fights under the nickname “Sombat” and represents Team Jai Dee. Unlike his opponent, Thompson has gone the distance in all four of his ONE appearances, demonstrating durability and tactical patience. He enters this matchup riding a wave of confidence after securing a unanimous decision over Takuma Ota at the previous ONE Friday Fights event. This clash of styles—Rambong’s aggressive finishing record against Thompson’s consistent, decision-oriented approach—sets the stage for a pivotal contest that could define both fighters’ trajectories on the global stage.
