Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert maintained his high volume role in Week 6, catching six of eight targets for 61 yards during a loss to the Carolina Panthers. Despite the team’s defeat, Goedert’s performance highlighted his continued importance as a primary receiving option in the passing game. His ability to secure targets under pressure reaffirms his status as a productive TE2 candidate in fantasy football lineups, particularly when the offense is looking for reliable downfield and short-yardage options.
Key Match Highlights & Tactical Analysis
The broader context of Goedert’s production is complicated by the injury to quarterback Jalen Hurts, which has introduced significant uncertainty into the Eagles’ offensive rhythm. With an inexperienced backup quarterback, Tanner McKee, now at the helm, the offense is expected to remain inconsistent for the foreseeable future. However, Goedert’s value is anchored in his red-zone dominance; he has scored 11 times in 2025, making him a premium asset in critical scoring situations regardless of the starting quarterback’s skill level.
Looking ahead, Goedert’s target share is poised to remain elevated as the Eagles navigate the remainder of the season with McKee. He has already been targeted 11 times over the last two weeks, a trend likely to continue as the coaching staff leans on his reliability. The upcoming Week 7 matchup against the struggling Dallas Cowboys presents a favorable opportunity for Goedert to capitalize on this increased attention, potentially boosting his fantasy output in a game where the Eagles may need to rely heavily on their most consistent pass-catcher.
