Auburn football will officially be without wide receiver Jeremiah Koger for its Saturday showdown against No. 12 Ole Miss, as the sophomore was downgraded to out on the latest SEC availability report. The game kicks off at 11:45 a.m. ET on SEC Network at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, marking a significant blow to the Tigers’ offensive depth just days before kickoff. Koger’s absence is particularly notable given his rising role in the passing game this season.
Tigers lose key sophomore depth as SEC availability report confirms injury status.
Through the first seven games of the 2024 campaign, Koger has established himself as Auburn’s third-leading receiver, recording 14 receptions for 230 yards. He was the only wide receiver listed on the injury report alongside tight end Hunter Herring and offensive lineman Tai Buster, both of whom are also confirmed out for the contest. With Herring and Buster unavailable, Auburn’s offensive line and receiving corps face a steep challenge in generating momentum against a ranked opponent.
Ole Miss also faces its own availability hurdles, with 14 players listed out on the final report, down from 15 on the initial listing. The Rebels’ absentees include key defensive backs Cedrick Beavers and Iverson McCoy, as well as running back Kewan Lacy. As both teams navigate their respective injury lists, the focus shifts to how Auburn’s remaining personnel can adapt to keep the offense moving against a resilient Ole Miss defense.
