The Oklahoma City Blue concluded their 2026 G League draft campaign by securing three new roster additions on Saturday, October 24. As one of 31 participating teams—including the Mexico City Capitanes—the Blue navigated the two-round process to bolster their depth for the upcoming 2026-27 regular season. While the Texas Legends made headlines by selecting Jeremy Sochan with the No. 1 overall pick, the Thunder’s affiliate focused on acquiring undrafted rookies, international talents, and former NBA players to strengthen their competitive lineup.

The Blue’s most significant move came in the first round, where they selected Bedford with the No. 5 pick. A versatile forward who completed his collegiate career at Virginia Tech after stints at Oral Roberts and UNLV, Bedford brings proven production to the roster. Over three seasons from 2023 to 2026, he averaged 12.0 points on 40.4% shooting, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. His consistent scoring and rebounding metrics suggest he will be a primary contributor in the G League’s demanding schedule.
Following their early-round selection, the Blue continued to build their roster by adding Mohamed with the No. 9 pick of the draft. This strategic approach allows the Thunder’s affiliate to balance immediate impact with long-term development. By utilizing their available slots effectively, OKC has positioned itself to compete for a playoff berth while providing a clear pathway for young talent to earn NBA call-ups. The addition of these three players marks a pivotal step in the Blue’s preparation for the new season.
