Prince William and Prince George have arrived in Barcelona for a high-stakes father-son outing, skipping their half-term break to support the Prince of Wales’ lifelong team, Aston Villa. The royal pair is set to make a surprise appearance at the Spotify Camp Nou on 3 November to watch the Premier League club face off against FC Barcelona in a crucial UEFA Champions League match. This visit marks a rare public moment for the eldest royal, who is currently on break from Eton College, as he joins his father in the stands for a major European fixture.

The atmosphere at the stadium was electric as FC Barcelona officially welcomed the visitors, sharing a photograph of Prince William dressed in a navy blazer and crewneck sweater. The club’s social media team expressed its gratitude, stating, “FC Barcelona is honoured to welcome His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and His Royal Highness Prince George to the Spotify Camp Nou.” The post highlighted the special nature of the evening, noting that the Prince of Wales is a known, animated supporter of Aston Villa who rarely misses the opportunity to cheer on the club in person.
This match represents a significant moment for both the royal family and Aston Villa, as the club competes on the biggest stage in European club football. For Prince George, it is an educational experience in sports culture and international travel, while for Prince William, it is a chance to reconnect with his passion for the game away from royal duties. The presence of the royals is expected to draw significant global media attention, amplifying the visibility of the Champions League and the unique bond between the father and son during this exclusive trip.
