The NBA slate is thin on Thursday, featuring only three games, but sharp bettors can still uncover significant positive expected value opportunities. The most compelling play involves Domantas Sabonis, who has secured at least 14 rebounds in five consecutive games. Tonight, the Sacramento Kings center faces a New Orleans Pelicans squad that ranked 25th in rebounds allowed last season. The Pelicans’ defensive struggles are evident, having allowed four of the last five centers they faced to exceed their rebounding prop lines.
Sabonis rebound over offers massive value against soft Pelicans defense.
Sabonis’s over on 13.5 rebounds is priced at +122, while the fair value sits at -109, creating a 16% positive expected value edge. This disparity makes it one of the highest-value plays available on the board. Supporting this trend, Nikola Jokic hit the over on his rebounding prop against the same Pelicans defense just last night, recording 13 rebounds. With Sabonis averaging well above the line and facing a vulnerable opponent, the statistical model strongly favors the over.
Beyond the Sabonis play, attention turns to rookie sensation Cameron Boozer, who has emerged as one of the league’s top first-year players. Although Boozer has only gone over his combo prop line in one of four games, his matchup presents a favorable scenario. He faces a Portland Trail Blazers team that has played three games in the last eight days, suggesting potential fatigue. While the specific line for Boozer’s prop is not detailed in the primary data, the context of a rested rookie against a tired veteran squad warrants close monitoring for additional value in secondary markets.
