The Boston Celtics return to TD Garden on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET to face the Brooklyn Nets, aiming to snap a three-game losing streak on the road. The team’s recent struggles were highlighted by a narrow 106-103 defeat to the Philadelphia 76ers, a contest where Kristaps Porziņģis led the charge with 29 points and six rebounds. Despite the loss, the Celtics remain the heavy favorites for this matchup, with experts projecting an 11-point victory. This game marks their eighth consecutive appearance as the betting favorite, a stretch in which they have gone 2-3-2 against the spread.
Boston seeks home redemption after road slump as Brooklyn rides hot shooting streak
Brooklyn enters this contest with momentum, having secured a 100-93 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. The Nets’ success was driven by superior perimeter efficiency, outshooting their opponents by a significant 14.4% in three-point shooting. That win leveled Brooklyn’s record at 4-4, providing a crucial confidence boost before facing a Boston squad that is currently 5-2. The contrast in recent form sets up a tactical battle between Boston’s interior dominance and Brooklyn’s improved outside shooting.
For fans looking to follow the action, the game will be available via standard sports broadcasting channels and live streaming services. The Celtics must address their defensive lapses that led to the Philadelphia loss, while the Nets will look to maintain their offensive rhythm. With Boston favored to win by double digits, the key takeaway for analysts is whether the Celtics can leverage their home-court advantage to cover the spread or if Brooklyn’s hot streak extends their winning run.
