Chris Billam-Smith and Cheavon Clarke face off in the ceremonial weigh-in ahead of their headline bout at Zuffa Boxing 12. The cruiserweight showdown takes place this Saturday at London’s Copper Box Arena, with fans able to follow the pre-fight proceedings live on Sky Sports. Both fighters enter the ring with significant momentum, having secured victories in thrilling contests during their previous engagements. The event serves as the final step before the two heavyweights lock horns in a battle expected to define the current landscape of the division.
Key Match Highlights & Tactical Analysis
Billam-Smith, a former world champion, is determined to reclaim the summit of the cruiserweight ranks after a bruising victory over Ryan Rozicki in June. His opponent, Cheavon Clarke, is a rising star who captured the British title in just nine professional fights. Clarke’s resilience was on full display in his last outing, where he rose from the canvas twice to defeat Jack Massey. This matchup pits a seasoned veteran seeking redemption against a young champion eager to prove his staying power on the biggest stage.
Beyond the professional stakes, this fight carries a personal dimension rooted in their amateur history. Clarke, who hails from Gravesend, handed Billam-Smith a painful defeat in the final of the 2016 national elite championships. Now, Billam-Smith has the opportunity to settle that old score in a professional setting. The rest of the card features Denzel Bentley versus Shane Mosley Jr, with Da’Mazion Vanhouter and Sam Hickey also scheduled to compete, ensuring a full night of action for boxing enthusiasts.
