Jude and Jobe Bellingham are poised to make history as the first brothers to play together for England since the Neville twins in 2005. Jobe’s call-up to the senior squad marks a significant milestone for the family, capping a parallel career trajectory that mirrors his older brother’s rise from Birmingham City academy stars to international stardom. This selection underscores the depth of talent emerging from English youth development systems and sets the stage for a unique on-pitch dynamic.
Jobe joins Jude in senior squad, ending 19-year wait for sibling duo
Jobe’s path closely parallels Jude’s, with both debuting for Birmingham at remarkably young ages. Jobe made his senior debut at 16 years and 107 days, just 69 days older than Jude’s record-breaking appearance. After helping Sunderland secure Premier League promotion, Jobe joined Borussia Dortmund at 19 in a deal worth up to £31m, following the same Bundesliga route that launched Jude into global prominence before his move to Real Madrid.
The inclusion of both brothers highlights a rare convergence of elite performance and familial legacy in modern football. While Jude has established himself as one of the world’s best players at Real Madrid, Jobe’s rapid ascent through the ranks demonstrates the sustained quality of the Bellingham brand. This historic pairing offers fans a compelling narrative of brotherhood and excellence, potentially rewriting the record books for England’s most decorated sibling duo.
