Supporting Taylor’s performance, Cam Gillus delivered a sharp shooting display, scoring 17 points while going 5-for-7 from the field. Gillus added three three-pointers and converted five of seven free-throw attempts, providing a reliable secondary scoring threat. James Brown also contributed effectively, finishing with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, which helped Howard maintain a consistent offensive rhythm throughout the contest.
For Alcorn State, the loss drops their record to 0-2, despite a strong individual effort from Trey Thomas, who matched Taylor with 27 points and added two steals. Saxby Sunderland provided playmaking spark with 13 points, five assists, and two steals, while Jahseem Felton added 12 points.
