Patrick Mahomes revealed that his intense preparation for the upcoming clash with the Denver Broncos caused him to completely overlook Halloween. The Chiefs quarterback admitted the holiday slipped his mind entirely until his wife, Brittany Mahomes, reminded him of the date. “It surprised me. I forgot about Halloween,” Mahomes stated, highlighting a level of tunnel vision that has become synonymous with his high-pressure performances. While such laser focus often correlates with on-field dominance, it initially left the family without a cohesive plan for their October 31 celebration.
Chiefs QB’s intense focus on Denver clash leaves holiday to wife’s creative rescue
Brittany Mahomes swiftly resolved the situation, orchestrating a seamless group costume that turned the family into a walking tribute to *Toy Story*. In photos shared on social media, Patrick transformed into Buzz Lightyear while Brittany donned the look of Jessie. The trio of children completed the ensemble with Bronze as Woody, Golden as a green alien, and Sterling as Barbie. The post was further personalized with a nod to Taylor Swift, using her track “I Knew It, I Knew You” as the background music, blending pop culture references with their NFL dynasty status.
The underlying driver for Mahomes’ absence from the holiday radar is the Chiefs’ urgent need to correct a recent stumble. The team suffered a 20-3 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks, a loss that has left them with a 5-1 record heading into Sunday’s matchup. Facing the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High on November 1, Mahomes is channeling all his energy into securing a victory. This game serves as a critical juncture for the franchise to reassert its dominance and silence early-season doubts following the Seattle setback.
