The offensive engine was led by junior standout running back Tymir Taylor, who amassed 178 rushing yards on 18 carries and scored two touchdowns. Taylor’s physicality set the tone early, as he carried the ball seven times on Ansonia’s opening drive, including a critical four-yard run on fourth-and-four that kept the momentum alive. He finished the sequence with a 22-yard burst to reach the goal line, followed by a seven-yard score. Sophomore quarterback Mykah McNeil complemented the rushing attack with two passing touchdowns to Xavier Docteur and Guel Geter, while also adding a one-yard rushing score of his own.
Senior Ethan Blackwell capped the offensive surge with a 44-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, extending the lead into blowout territory. Ansonia’s balanced approach was evident from the start, as they established the run on the first drive and the pass on the second, where McNeil found his rhythm after a short punt placed the ball on the Woodland 47. The shutout victory highlights the Chargers’ depth and versatility, proving they can adjust their game plan to dominate both the ground and the air against competitive opponents.
